Black Keys - Lonely Boy

The latest single from the Black Keys has been posted to youtube by the band. The new album, El Camino, is due out December 6. I don’t quite understand why the auto on the album art looks absolutely nothing like my uncle’s old Chevy El Camino, but maybe I just don’t “get it.” Either way, the song is good; fun, catchy and very typical of the “Brothers” era Black Keys stuff.

The Black Keys have been in it for nearly a decade. If you’re new to the blues inspired rock duo, I highly suggest you check out their archives. Chulahoma (which covers blues legend Junior Kimbrough), Magic Potion and Rubber Factory, even 2008’s Attack and Release, all possess a different kind of soul. No hate to the Black Keys for running with their catchy new rock sound, but I really miss the blues. I guess things ain’t like they used to be.

If I should ever die, God forbid, let this be my epitaph: THE ONLY PROOF SHE NEEDED FOR THE EXISTENCE OF GOD WAS MUSIC *
